Somewhere between Jupiter and Uranus lies 2060 Chiron, a minor planet with asteroid like rings. I wanted to design a buggy that would race around Chiron in a Baja style event where the vehicles would maneuver from asteroid to asteroid in order to complete a lap around the planet.
Since this is in space, where there would be little to no gravity, a conventional buggy format would not apply. I felt inspired to implement a more vertical form, inspired by fish, in order to give the driver a higher vantage point for upcoming obstacles. The vehicle also includes thrusters which force the buggy to the ground, as well as orbital thrusters which help it maneuver from asteroid to asteroid.
